Howdy from Mississippi
Hello, my wife and I moved from the city to the country 8 years ago so we can have a garden, fruit trees and raise chickens. We have a 35' X 90' garden area and grow a variety of vegetables including asparagus, tomato, sweet pepper, cowpea, lima bean, shell bean, snap bean, okra, cantelope, summer squash, cucumber, sweet corn, sunflower, and peanut. We have been able to attract purple martins and have about 30 here now.

Welcome to the forum!! Are you doing a row garden or square foot gardening? I think I am going to do a little bit of both this year to get a big crop of beets for canning! I also got chicks and we are building them a coop! I love the spring!

Welcome to the forum. Wow! You have quite a garden. Is it a SFG or row garden? Wishing you the best of harvests this year!
Re: Howdy from Mississippi
Thank you for the welcomes. In addition to three 4' X 35' raised beds, I have a 35' X 80' garden with 13 rows. I guess that disqualifies me for the square foot category, huh?
I made a big mistake this weekend as I used some old Miracle Gro to fertilize my young, cotyledonary tomates I had planted in flats and most of them died. I had 18 different varieties/hybrids. Guess I will get some fresh soil and replant. Oh, well - live and learn.
