I'm new here. I have the new book and am building my first box. I have a bit of a rain delay today. (sigh) I still haven't located the vermiculite. Maybe someone local could point me in the right direction?

For vermiculite try

Hydro Harvest Farms, Ruskin, FL. 813-645-6574

J.R. Johnson Supply, Sun City FL. 813-645-4666

and Pro One, Plant City, FL.

Be sure to call before you go. Also many True Value Hardware stores sell vermiculite expecally if they also have a garden center. Those that do not carry it can generally order it for you. Also check with any farm Co-Ops in your area.

So glad to have you here as a member of the most exciting way to garden since Adam was kicked out of the Garden of Eden.

WardinWake, thank you so much for that. Unfortunately those places are not very close to me. They're all more than an hour drive. There is one or two nurseries nearby that I'll check with.
