I'm Hughes Roberts in Waynesville, N.C., 30 miles West of Asheville at
4400 feet elevation.
I grew up working a hoe in my father's half acre row garden...didn't like it a bit! Man, can I relate to the benefits of Square Foot Gardening.
A Master Gardener garden teaching project at a nearby elementary school has been highly successful and is a fun project for me. I'm looking forward to learning from all of you and helping make converts in our community.

welcome to the forum HughesRoberts. I think you will find this style MUCH EASIER than hoeing. Most likely more productive also. Do yourself a real big favor; get the All New Square Foot Gardening book by Mel Bartholomew (it is in edition 2 now). This forum is based on his methods, they are somewhat different than the master course you are in.

Hope you will enjoy your time here as much as most of us do.
