Purple sw. Potatoes
I bought a couple purple sw. potatoes on the road side. I guess I might try growing these. Are they any good when eaten?
I didn't buy enough to eat and grow. I hate to give up room in my SFG if they might not taste good. Purple?

Purple is usually what you get in Asian countries. I have to admit that I never quite acquired the taste for purple sweet potato ice cream.

I have the potatoes to make slips.
I don't think I'd even like orange sw. potato ice cream!
Has anyone ever had purple sw. potato pie?

Purple sweet potatoe pie
If you have ever been to Hawaii, the Okinawa (purple) sweet potato pie is very popular and absolutely delicious. It generally comes with a haupia layer, haupia is a Hawaiian coconut based pudding. As a former Hawaii resident I'm looking to grow some of the potato in my sfg and to make the pie. Looking for a source and saw this post.littlejo wrote:I have the potatoes to make slips.

I love pumpkin ice cream, and often the same spices and flavorings are used for sw potatoes. I think I would like it!
