Just registered up wanted to check out the site. The fall garden is about finished now and gearing up for a spring planting as soon as it dries up a little. going to be planting a bunch of sweet corn this year.
Got a bunch of carrots, turnips, and cabbage still in the garden. We will be pulling them out soon. I'm not really a SFG I plant about 2 acres.
Just getting my feet wet here. Learning how to use the site. Looking forward to meeting everyone and sharing experiences.

I also have an acreage and all the space I could need, but I have started SFG as a way to concentrate my nutrients. Where I live the soil is not great and I have found that by using the SFG method, I can keep the great soil and not waste it where it is not needed.

ALSO it cuts down a lot on weeding..
I also have lots of things growing that are not in SFG, such as strawberries, raspberries, grapes, many fruit trees. I also found that beets seems to do better in soil.
BTW Where is mulberry rock? IN the US?

Mullberry Rock - must be Georgia with user name GaRedClay. I interpret that as gardening in Georgia in red clay.

Welcome GaRedClay. When I saw 'Mulberry' I had to check it out since I've been watching the Britcom Mulberry on our PBS station every Sat night. Of course, he's a guy, not an area.

Nonetheless. welcome. I'm sure you'll find lots of help and ideas. I find that even with 9 raised SFG beds, I like my blueberries elsewhere and my strawberries in a long berm and my dwarf fruit trees lining the driveway.

Still, SFG is the easier, healthier, and better way to grow for best results with less energy expended or danger to the land. Try to get the All New Square Foot Gardening book by Mel Bartholomew from your library and read it thru. You'll find lots of great ideas.

Thanks for the welcome, Yes, Mulberry Rock is in NW Ga. I reckon us
Georgians love our rocks. Stone Mountain and the like. I figured locals
would get an idea of my general whereabouts, if I introduced myself like that. I have noticed there are many in my general area who are
active in garden forums and its nice to know neighbors share the same
hobbies and problems, then can share solutions.

Can yall believe this weather they are predicting 70 Tues here. Hope it isn't like last year got everything up early and then came a late frost.
Well every year has its problems, I reckon this one will too.

It is 60*F here today with plenty of sun. I just came in for a break from turning my compost pile. It is supposed to get down to 33*F tonight though so still too early to plant spring veggies yet. But if it were snowing and freezing I wouldn't have to turn the compost pile so I guess there is some benefit to the folks living in the frozen tundra of the north.
