😢
Most of my seedlings are dying. They were so healthy until yesterday then they all.... and I mean all started to wilt. I lost most of my tomatoes, the marigolds are going mushy and wilting, my herbs are starting to go yellow. The trays are mostly dead now and I don't know what happened. They are under the grow lights, enough water. Maybe there isn't enough heat. Well back to starting new seeds. Feels like 5 weeks wasted.

Sad day :( Empty So sorry...

Awww, I feel bad for you. I was going to complain about the fact that one of my kids threw a football into one of my tomatoe seedlings today, but I'll do no such thing now. At least it's still hanging on for dear life.

Sorry you have to start over. No fun. Especially when you think everything is going good then they go off and die on you Sad

Good luck with the next round! Hopefully everything will go just as planned.

Ohhh, Ayane! That seems so unexplainable Sad day :( Icon_sad . Every morning when I come downstairs I check my seedlings and I hope I never find what you did. ChocolatePop lost her seedlings, too. Her husband didn't bring them in the other night. She's trying to rehab them but it doesn't look good.

I wish you good luck as you start over. When you learn what caused this sudden demise please let us all know.Sad day :( 601593

I've had a few sudden deaths of previously healthy looking seedlings myself, it's so upsetting... Just a suggestion, could it be that you're watering them too much? I made the same mistake... Sometimes it looks like the soil is dry, but on the bottom there's still water and if you keep watering you end up "drowning" the roots, which causes yellowing and death of the leaves, and in the worst cases something called "damping off", which causes the seedlings to rot (google it to get more info and see if it matches what you're seeing).
Good luck with your next batch, we're all learning as we go... I'm on my third batch of brassicas at the moment, after killing the first one and getting some dubious results on the second :-)

Thanks everyone for the sympathy and replies, it does give me some comfort. I do believe the plants were watered too much, I did put in more water then usual lately because the soil "seemed dry" and my latest attempt for zucchini and squash has not produced any seedlings either, I may have rotted them out. If you have the dampening off disease then sometimes a fan will help, as well as watering from the bottom. Good luck on round two.

I am so sorry, but do keep persevering. It's hard to know how much water to give the little babies. I too lost some seedlings from dampening off and learned by trial and error to not water until a few wilted just a little. Not too much, obviously since that will also cause death. You might also check your potting mix. One seeding mix I used (Jiffy) was just too fine and packed down hard around the roots. I ended up with the best success with vermiculite enriched Mel's mix - about 1 cup vermiculite to 1 quart Mel's mix. Better luck this time around.
