Recovering from lack of water

My problem raised bed is a problem again. My dry problem came back and I think I've resolved (again), however, my watermelon and canteloupe appear to be damage.

Like many melons, hosing around in the soil to resoak the dried parts appears to have disturbed their roots too much. They and the bell peppers are stunted from lack of water. Essentially having slowing slid into a drought type condition.

The bell peppers appear to be recovering. The cantaloupes are not.

So am I better off starting over with the cantaloupes or letting them run their course and seeing if they recover?

I've pull the green beans which did great but were spent.

The tomato is over the top of the cage, but a bit spindly. It'll recover. I think the bell peppers will recover. the new beans are already sprouted and should do fine.

The big question, hope for recovery on the melons or do a late start and up for long enough warm weather?

What are the seasoned So-Cal users thoughts? Or anybody else's thoughts?

I do not grow melons do am not able to advise you with these plants. Also you say you are from So. California and do not know your growing season and do not know if you have tome to start them from seed.

The lack of water has effected most of SFGers to some extent. I just noticed on of my cukes just dried up and is dead to the top; sad to see anything die for any reason.

Perhaps you could post some pictures of your plants and someone should be able to give you some advice. Did live in Alabama and had enough time for two growing season so someone in your area or in the south could give some input

Someone can correct me on this but I'd say let it run it's course. If it doesn't like it's getting any better, start again from seed.

Closest I can come to that is I'm trying to revive a pomegrante tree in our backyard. It's always had green leaves but it wasn't growing fruit nicely. So we started watering and got it all trimmed up. So far, the regular watering seems to be helping. It's getting greener. There's a few baby poms on the branches.
