Looking for some assistance from you kind folks. I have this one bug that always seems to come up for air when I'm spraying the neem oil. I don't know if I should squish him or not. He is hiding amongst my zuchinnis. I think he looks similar to a soldier bug, but also similar to stink bugs. So I'm really not sure.

Other strange tiny fly I've seen all over the garden:

Any help is appreciated! Smile

The bug is a squash bug, very destructive. They like to hang out under leaves and at soil level near the stem. I flush them out of hiding with a spray of water and then hand pick and squish them. The eggs, if you find them can be destroyed by squishing. there is some good info in the blog post, link under photo.

The fly may be hunting other creatures. I don't think they damage the plants.... I could be wrong on that though.
