Nerdy veggies
Our family is very geeky/nerdy, so when I first started this project I was delighted to see "Brandywine" tomatoes; Brandywine being the river that runs through parts of Middle-earth in The Lord of the Rings (it's the one the Hobbits cross at Bucklebury).
So I started compiling a list of veggies with geeky/nerdy veggies (surely mostly unintentional but that's okay). So far on my list:
Brandywine tomatoes
Vulcan chard
Dragon Tongue beans
Skywalker Cauliflower
Bloody Butcher corn (Diablo reference)
Green Arrow peas
Bloody Butcher Tomato (thanks Boffer!)
Can anyone think of more?

Re: Nerdy veggies
You're getting over my head, but there's a Bloody Butcher tomato as well.

A long time ago on the old forum, we had a make-it-up-as-we-went story thread about the scandalous relationships between the threesome of Drunken Woman Frizzy Headed (lettuce), Radiator Charlie (Mortgage Lifter tomato), and the Bloody Butcher (tomato). Hey, Rooster, there's an idea for when it gets slow on the forum this fall
