I have ordered 5 growbags which are 3'x1'. I have a short list of veggies I want to grow and feel that "companion planting" is my best way to use the space. My plan is to plant:
These will each occupy one of the growbags to (hopefully) yield the amount I desire. This is to assume that the pepper, cucumber, courgette and melon plants will each produce around 5 fruits. I also hope to fit in around 3 pepper plants alongside 2 courgettes, 36 parsnips alongside 12 red and 12 white onions, 3 cucumbers with 36 carrots, 3 melons with 84 radishes and finally 3 potatoes with 12 celery.
What do you think of these plans? Are they too cramped or sound about right? Any advise greatly appreciated!
- Pepper & Courgette
- Parsnip & Onion
- Cucumber & Carrot
- Melon & Radish
- Potato & Celery
