Companion Planting with Green Peppers
Hi Everyone!
I'm hoping someone can answer a companion planting question. I intend to grow some green peppers and am reading about companion planting. When it comes to the green peppers, I've read conflicting articles. Some say NOT to plant them near tomatoes, and others advocate that you DO plant near/with tomatoes.
Can someone clear this up for me?

Peppers are ok to go with tomatoes, not so much kohlrabi and other brassicas. I usually refer to this site. http://www.ghorganics.com/page2.html

Tomatoes and peppers are OK. My cucumbers have consistantly died when forced to grow with a pepper.

Yikes I have a row of peppers right next to my cucumber towers......

I was going by statements like this:
"PEPPERS, HOT: Chili peppers have root exudates that prevent root rot and other Fusarium diseases. Plant anywhere you have these problems. While you should always plant chili peppers close together, providing shelter from the sun with other plants will help keep them from drying out and provide more humidity. Tomato plants, green peppers, and okra are good protection for them. Teas made from hot peppers can be useful as insect sprays. Hot peppers like to be grouped with cucumbers, eggplant, escarole, tomato, okra, Swiss chard and squash. Herbs to plant near them include: basils, oregano, parsley and rosemary. Never put them next to any beans, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts or fennel. "

My Bell peppers were right next to my cucumbers last year and both did fine.
