Ugh...I killed my tomatoes
I tried to harden off my baby tomatoes, but killed them. I hope there is time to start them over. I REALLY wanted to grow the heirloom San Marazano I got from Baker Creek. If anyone know of a place to buy heirloom tomato plants in central California please let me know. I'm so disappointed. At least my peas, beans, onions, garlic, shallots, strawberries, broccoli are looking good.

LOL...you've got plenty of time!
Why don't you start them directly in your garden? The weather is great right now!

I think I'm going to try soil blocks and not use the lights. Trying to stay positive.

Are your nights 50* or warmer? Go outside.
If not, stay in!
With 300 growing days, it has to be close to ideal for outside planting.
You'll get them growing...

Re: Ugh...I killed my tomatoes
Hardening off is tricky. I put mine out during the day and took them in at night. Then started leaving them out at night. Ok, I forgot about them and left them out. They are still alive. I planted one but do not have squares yet for the other two.
If you put it in the garden, try putting 2 liter bottle cloches over them (cut out bottom and leave off cap). You can take them off during the day if it is too hot.
Sorry you lost those. Live and learn. Always through mistakes.

Home Depot & Lowes each have a few heirloom tomatoes. At least they do here in southern CA.

I have always found that though I baby my plants, started early in the greenhouse and then put them out when the weather permits, that the "volunteers" in the garden very quickly catch up to mine, at least try a few seeds
