What is your most hated weed?

For me its Bermuda Grass. a never ending battle.

Dollar weed. There is absolutely nothing I can do about it. It grows because there is too much moisture, due to my soil being very clayey. And it seems to love MM too...weed barrier? Pfft, no problem, it'll just keep sending out it's rhizome until it finds the edge or the overlap. Sheet mulch before putting in a new bed? Lol, it just waits patiently until the cardboard has deteriorated enough. Too bad the weeds are actually worth a dollar each /sigh

Johnson grass and bindweed are tied for me. The wild strawberries are very prolific, but are super easy (and almost fun - satisfying at least) to pull.

Do I get to count the mint plant the previous owners of our house planted in the ground? I managed to kill the chocolate mint and am making headway on the spearmint but yeesh, it is hard to eliminate.

I also have purslane that grows like mad between my boxes (at least I think that is what it is) which as several mentioned here is edible. I'm going to take a sample to the extension office to make sure that is what it is and if so, at least I can get my revenge by eating the blasted weed.

I've just Wikki'd purslane.. it seems quite a remarkable useful weed to have in large pots on hard surfaces well away from your veg beds .

The weed I hate the most is garlic mustard, even though I don't think it's come up in my SFG.
Second on the list is some smartweed-family plant that has little spines that grows back by the creek. Again, not a SFG weed for me, but a problem when I'm trying to grow/tend swamp milkweeds and such and it's attacking me.

My most numerous weed in the SFG at any given time is usually the one I like least in that context. So one year the elm tree was really prolific with its seeds, and another year it was the maple, and last year it was the aster seedlings that came in the fall. Because I had asters in my flower bed, downwind of the rest of the garden, and the seeds are tiny little wind-blown fluffers (WHAT was I thinking? ) The Queen Anne's Lace seedlings are little rough because I have to remember to NOT pull those perfectly spaced ones that are actually the carrots I planted.

The parsley, wild arugula, and claytonia seedlings are quite numerous this spring, but they count as volunteers.

Cinquefoil is the strawberry-like/"pot-like" weed shown earlier in this thread. I have it in one of my non-SFG landscape beds and the underground runners make it difficult to get rid of.

Gout weed. Takes over everything and I can't get rid of it.

Just plain grass.  Also an unnamed and at this point unidentified thing...will post pics or have one of the mods help since I can't figure it out....grrrr

Horsetail aka Mare's Tail.  I also do not like creeping buttercup but it is flourishing so there must be something in my garden to agrees with it.
