Poke holes

If I put tomato cages (not sure what support I'm going to use yet) inside the box and put it in deeper into the ground (deeper than my MM) will I get weeds? I'm going to use the weed mat stuff in the bottom of the box. This may sound silly, but I'm thinking I should put these cages deeper in the ground for support, but don't want to ruin the weed mat.

This is my first year and it's getting really close to plant time and I'm obsessing about it! Thanks!

It is highly unlikely, unless you have something like Bermuda grass under the bed.
