I have these coming up all over my yard..Any idea what they are and how to get rid of them?

Those are violets! Take a dandelion tool and pop the corms out of the ground from underneath. Do not throw them into the compost.

LOL, I have never had violets in my window, the stems are way too short. But I have made jelly from them.
