Would love to try these
Would love to try these if you have any more seeds available. Thanks.

When to sow seeds in Zone10b?
The generosity here is wonderful!
I'm new to square foot gardening (actually gardening in general) and I just bought myself some Aunt Molly's. Does anyone plant their seeds directly outdoors? Or mostly indoors 6wks before last frost, like the packet says?
thanks, Linh

Re: Ground cherry seeds, paying it forward
Mine were planted indoors. I'm inexperienced with growing from seed. So I found the seedlings fairly delicate and quickly got leggy. I lost a lot but once I paid extra close attention to them, finally got a couple to harden off. One went in a pot of Mel's Mix and one went into a sfg box. The one in the box went crazy and wanted to take up all the surrounding squares. It probably produced well over 300 ground cherries. The one in the pot did ok for its size, but not nearly as robust as the other.

These look a lot like Tomatillos are they the same thing?

from seed
Thanks llama momma,
What do you mean by "extra close attention?"
It sounds like these would be best in their own box rather than a shared sfg. I may try sowing some now indoors and some in January and see how they do. I'll be trying my tomatoes the same way.
@Hoggar - I've never eaten one, but from what I've read, they are the same family as tomatillos, but are sweeter and eaten when fully ripe, or baked like fruit into pies/muffins etc.

Too much water and too much sun = fast growth, leggy seedlings, backed off on both, then was able to save a couple to transplant outside. mslinh -- My answer is in red above.

Re: Ground cherry seeds, paying it forward
I wanted to thank you again, Dianamarie, for the groundcherry seeds you sent! It was by FAR the most prolific plant in my garden, producing hundreds of fruit that we ate raw, cooked into preserves, added to fruit salsa and left for the birds to enjoy.
My plant is done now, but I've saved seeds for next year. And the way the birds are chowing down, we'll probably have several volunteer plants next year as well! Yum!
