Re: Where'd all the Canucks go?
My snow is melting too, but there won`t be any explosed ground to work for a while yet.
Getting my table top grow op up and running this week. Pepper and crucifer seeds will be first candidates.

Re: Where'd all the Canucks go?
This afternoon some of my garden (a few square feet) is now snowless and I will be able to start scarifying the grass of last years leaves to add to the compost heap.
Yesterday I was able to add some frozen veggies from my freezer to the top of the compost pile. I place all my veggie peelings etc in freezer bags during the winter and place them in an old freezer so they don't rot.

Rain
We had steady rain all night and most of this morning so the snow has shrunk by a third, most of it is seeping into the basement now....
We had 10 centigrade yesterday, 6 centigrade last night... it's zero C right now... we're supposed to get snow again tonight..... but at least it's cycling up towards Spring...

Re: Where'd all the canucks go?
"I'm late! I'm late! For a very important date! No time to say hello, goodbye! I'm late! I'm late! I'm late!"
Just getting around NOW to post last summer's photos. Is it still okay to do so? Does anyone still care to have a look? How do I go about it?
Might be late with the pics but, Dee has already seeded (Feb 12 - indoors of course) the tomatoes, kale, peppers, green onions, reg. onions and parsley. Everything is about 3 inches high by now.
Must say, last year's crop was a HUGE success, including the butternut seed that fell from the sky! We tended it as if we had planted it ourselves and it was delicious. This ever happened to anybody? Must have dropped from a bird's beak flying overhead.
Please let me know about the pics...

Yes, do post your pics, Bristow. Never too late for pictures.
In the West Kootenay, British Columbia, we are still snow, then rain, now more snow forecast for this weekend.

We're having a very mild month of March where everywhere the white stuff is melting really fast. I hope it turns out as mild as 1987 when we were able to direct plant in April. 2010 was kind of like that too here in Montreal.
Okay, all donewith the pics! To tell the truth, I'm rather proud of myself for figuring out how to do this, not to mention resizing them all . I wonder if they're big enough though? Let me know...

Re: Where'd all the Canucks go?
Hi GWN!
Go to the top of the forum in the green bar under the SFG logo and click "Gallery"
Then look under the green bar on the next page for some small print that says "Users Personal Albums" and click that link
Then look on the next page for "BRISTOW" (they are in alpha order so it shouldn't be too hard to find)
Click that album and you should see the pictures. Click on one to enlarge it and there should be an arrow above the pictures to page through the album...or there are some options to view as a slide show, etc.
I'm not sure if that is the easiest way, but that's the way that worked for me Let us know if you are still stuck...
Oh and ByTheWay - NICE PICTURES BRISTOW!

Re: Where'd all the Canucks go?
Lovely pictures, very mouthwatering stuff.
My scarlet runner beans looked like yours, I found it incredible the yield I had from them, I must make sure that I give the space a good load of compost for this coming season, ready for the next crop of veggies.

Bristow, what a great garden you had last year.
I love the butternut that fell from the sky. Nice broccoli head, very nice. Lots of great looking veggies.
