Around Thanksgiving is the usual time when the migrating birds flock en masse here in the trees and rest a while as they make their way south. Being a really mild winter, this was not until Christmas time this year. Today, they were already back again. They seem to be able to tell when the major patterns are shifting and so I'm taking that as a sign that winter just didn't show up this year. We are mild at the best of times but its literally been 60 degrees 5 out of 7 days of the week all winter so far. A rabbit that visits my back yard is trying to nest also and i'm finding a few holes around the yard. Again , much earlier than last year.
Shannon, I agree. I say early
Now watch it snow ....
