Thinning Seedlings under Grow Lights
Today I made a short experimental video on thinning the seedlings in the starter trays under the grow lights. Probably one of the biggest mistakes that gardeners make with seedlings is pulling the plant out instead of cutting it off. Pulling the plant out will disturb the roots of the plant that is left in the pot and possibly stunt its growth. It is much better to cut off the plant to be removed instead of pulling on it. But, a lesson I learned years ago is to ensure I have a sharp snippers so it does not pull on the plant when trying to cut it off.
"In short, the soil food web feeds everything you eat and helps keep your favorite planet from getting too hot. Be nice to it." ~ Diane Miessler, "Grow Your Soil"
