Garlic lovers can order now for best selection
For those of us who plant garlic in the Fall, I made my order last night. If you wait, I have found the popular varieties will almost certainly disappear later on.

I take it they'll mail it when the time is right for planting and not right now?

Yes, that's been my experience.

I did that last year; am hoping to use my "best" bulbs for planting this fall. I like the concept of varieties becoming acclimated to my particular microclimate. We will see how that works for me!

I have done that for the last two years and I certainly noticed an increase in the clove size. Instead of 6 to 10 cloves the first year, last year most of the bulbs were larger and most contained three or four cloves. I replant the largest in the fall and I have gone from planting 80 cloves after the first harvest and last year I planted 120 for harvesting this fall.
I know I do not need that many for myself but I have several friends who enjoy having them as Christmas gifts and now start to look froward to receiving them. In return they give me their veggies scraps and coffee grounds etc.
Re: Garlic lovers can order now for best selection
I've been growing one variety the last several years and replanted some of those. For fun I'm interested in trying another variety.

Last year I ordered 2 varieties from Seeds of Change. I don't remember which one.
