Trying 4 per square this year, just to see if they grow larger. Planted middle of October 2015.

I usually plant 4 garlic in one square, diamond shaped, then 5 in the next square and 4 in the next square and five in the next square. That way they're all about the same distance apart.
But this year I'm adding something a little different. In some boxes I have one garlic planted at each grid cross section. The garlic is marking my squares in place of grids. I'm also hoping they will keep harmful insects away. Particularly the white cabbage butterfly!
I also have garlic circling my fruit trees.
