0ne pound carrot

one of many from the carrot comp , there are bigger ones lurking in the beds but we needed one for our evening fare

The seed was sown on 2 May 9
I was late sowing them due to lousy weather as all earlier sown carrots succumed to rot . This picture was harvested 2 Sept 2012

The seed variety is CARSON , it turned out that I have several squares of them .
Today 9 Sept has seen us get three portions of carrots for three different evening meals off one root .
I'm so glad I discovered these Carsons for they will last right into winter if left in the ground , They are carrotfly and slug resisting .
After that we'll get going with the Autumn king 1 & 2 squares.
