I can relate to that!

Re: Senseless Banter...
Reminds me of the time 27 yrs ago when Alison & I move out to the site of our to be constructed small pet shop mammal farm . I'd been dong Mel's original style square foot gardening in rows of ten feet instead of 4 foot square beds .
I'd not long suffered the final spinal injury and so could only work the beds with 6 fort long shafted tools .. mini spade and mini sized fork .
Sowing in the lovely light 150 yr old tilled garden silt soil was easy but getting the seeds in place was difficult , using two bamboo canes and a cord it was easy to make the rows then slide seeds down a 3/4 id. stainless steel tube to the site they were to grow in . Alison was happily doing her bit with Kohlrabi . After thirty seconds she came to me beaming , gave me a big hug declaring " I love you , I've just sown my first ever seeds . can I have some more ?
I gave her a packet of lettuce seed .. " No not those , I've run out of kohlrabi I want some more to completer the row ."
So 1000 kohlrabi sees over a foot long row ..interesting .
I got the kitchen sieve and sifted the soil & seed from the row , then explained about a seed every four inches or so and four inches between rows .
We still find it funny as Alison now always sows the kohlrabi in the raised ANSFG beds with pride. ( using a square foot plastic sowing mask/grid )
