Awesome glad to hear your buddy had the spigot in question and can help you out ive searched both lowes and home depots web sites useing the terms i know (hose bib, hose spigot, hose faucet) and neither of them show the item in question even though i literaly found it in the plumbing isle along with all the other copper brass and stainless steel types, i know its there cause thats thats where i bought it lol home depot is not going to be too happy with the survey i fille dout while on their site im sure. (i think my straight forward your site sucks attitude might come off a bit harsh lol) if need be i will go to the store take a picture of the isle and the items that are there for people when they go into the store to show the associate what they need.

Thats an awesome idea good thinking

Good for you! Tell it how it is. I've printed a pic of the one you used and am heading to HD today -- hope I can find one although our store is small. If not, I'll just dump the "tea" out on a regular basis. Can't wait to welcome the little darlings. (We need a happy wormy icon on this site!).

It didn't. Two associates at HD had never seen such a thing and were convinced that it didn't come from them. When I told them you were in Florida, one said, "Oh, that explains it -- they do things differently there". Arrgghhhh!!!!
I'm carrying the photo in the truck and will try in other hardware/ plumbing stores. In the meantime, I'll use the dump method.

OK -- you found a great pic, so how do we get it made into an icon? I wanna friendly wormy icon! Mine was too small -- shows OK on the computer but doesn't translate well into posts.

i found the pic and did a little editing on it not sure how to make it an icon will keep my eyes open for something as for the people in HD/lowes most of them dont know squat about the area they are in but sometimes you get lucky. I have to head pass there today ill stop in grab another pic and try to get the sku number. rofl people in florida do things diffrently down there thats too funny although true lol ive seen pvc hose bibs in use in other states as well. Im sure a brass 1 will work just the same 2 reasons i chose the pvc $$$ and it was lightweight

What size do you want it and/or what do you want to do with it?

Plastic/ pvc ones apparently are, at least around here. I'm thinking of trying a water jar spigot -- I think it would work.

As to icon -- Not sure the size, but I want to use it as a smiley. If I'm going to have wormy pets, I'd like a wormy smiley. worm - Wiggler Hilton - Page 3 Wormie11

You are a genius. No to dancing wormies since some folks have slow connections (it used to drive me nuts to have to wait 5 mins for a page to load due to motion pics!). Here's the link to the worm I really liked but it is in a strange format that doesn't translate well. Also don't know about copyright issues: http://www.iconfinder.com/icondetails/23867/128/ BUT the one you crafted from chocksaw's image is also great! Yes, to one in my siggy. I think bats and worms will be compatible with each other! Can we add it to the smilie menu so I can use it whenever?

worm - Wiggler Hilton - Page 3 Empty The little darlings arrived!

Post  Retired Member 1 4/14/2010, 5:50 pm

One pound of squishy, squirmy, squiggily, slimy worms arrived an hour ago. They looked in good shape and are (hopefully) burroughing into the bedding in their new home. One rode up my hand really fast when I was scattering them around. Cute little bugger--I named her "runner" and sent her forth to eat and poop.

Good looking hilton, JJ. From what I've read it's best to stay away from onions and citrus. And I was surprised that the instructions that came with mine said to use 10 pounds of shredded newspaper for one pound of worms. I don't have anywhere near that amount. How much did you use?

Oh no - I didn't see that about the onions, just the citrus. I can take them out today when I put in some coffee grounds. I didn't put in a lot of newspaper yet because I work at a newspaper and have a giant shredder. Gonna get a bunch today and stick in there. I wasn't expecting them to show up yesterday so I was ill prepared.

looking god JJ yeah from what i read it said to use onions and citrus in moderation a little bit here and there is ok but not on a consistant basis so you should be ok. talked to the produce manager at my local grocery store and he said it wasnt a problem for me to come in once a week with my bucket and grab some of the old veggies awesome suggestion BB

Just to add - if your town has a newspaper that does their own printing, they have tons of paper that goes into recycle bins. Ask if you can have some... if they have a shredder they may even shred it for you.

Good idea, but I'm having problems finding newspapers without coloured ink on at least one side a every page. I just stopped by the library and picked up a couple of dozen newspapers, and going through them could only use about 1/3 of the pages. I wonder if a little colour would really hurt the little darlings? worm - Wiggler Hilton - Page 3 Wormie13

Our paper only has color on the front and back page, so I just used the insides and threw those pages in the recycle bin. I shredded about 50 newspapers this morning so I'm all set!

It may be worth a call to the printing plant to determine what kind of ink is used on the color pages. I know that a number of newspaper plants have switched from a lead-based ink to vegetable dye ink - which of course then would be no issue!
