Mowing Mud
Howdy Folks:
From the magazine "Country". A 6 year old boy was watching his neighbor till up his garden. When he got home his mother asked where he had been. He answered, "Watching Mr. Bill mow his mud".
God Bless, Ward and Mary.

How in the world am I going to get my own (trusted) manure now?
Zoning? I just go ahead and do what I am going to do anyway. If the zoning folks come around (they never have) I could plead like a Congressman and act real dumb (not much acting required on my part).

I was thinking that I could just go ahead and get a 2-4 rabbits and call them my sons' pets...but I'm concerned about the neighbors kitty-corner behind us. He's a long-time city councilman and local business-owner. However, if he approaches me first trying to tell me I can't keep rabbits...well...I'll just tell him that if he turns me in, I'll turn him in for not honoring the leash laws, letting his large Black Lab roam free through the neighborhood, pooping in everyone's yards without cleaning it up (he's not even there to see it!), knocking over small children (including mine!) and scaring pedestrians who have dog phobias. We might be able to come to an agreement.

Re: Senseless Banter...
We have a large inside cage for our bunny. He's litterbox trained which makes it very easy to get the pellets. No problem with smell. They're really sweet pets. We take him into our fenced yard and he enjoys hopping around - a bit challenging to catch him, though! If you were able to keep them inside, the neighbors wouldn't even know

Having just a few rabbits is a heck of a lot better(less noise, not as messy, etc) than one dog. I say you should get the rabbits.

You must've stolen our weather, Rooster. It's been unseasonably cool since the cold front passed by. Yesterday only hit 71, last night 42, and today will only hit 74. It's amazing to me how I now need a sweater when it's in the high 60s these days...acclimation!

TTT, I thought that's who it was; I'm not a fan of the newer fruity renaissance-celtic sound he's got going with his wife, but one of their songs "shadow of the Moon" is musically interesting (I wish I could find an instrumental version though).

I'm not a real big fan of his renaissance music. I do have about a dozen or so MP3s of Blackmore's Night songs. They're pretty good. His playing on those renaissance songs is phenomenal though. I would do almost anything to see him play hard rock again.
I did see Blackmore's Night last May and it was a very good show. Would I see them again? Definitely, but I just wish he would play hard rock again.

Re: Senseless Banter...
We've had several different birds nest in and around the garden like that , once they hatch the bloody grey squirrels come and eat them . Sometimes getting the parent on the nest as well as all the eggs.
Luckily your chicks are in a hanging basket , so the local marauding moggies & other meat eating wild life shouldn't get a look in till they try to fly once they're feathered up.
Please keep us up to speed with theh devlopment of the clutch / brood fo our Munchkin is very interested in seeing then as they grow on.

We had three wabbits over the years that would walk awound the garden on a light leash. One ..the biggest was an outdoor sort of guy weighing in at over 10 pounds as he was a massive old English breed.
The next was a minature Netherland dwarf . She lived in the cellar at nights in a big inside rabbit care and had free roam of the dowstairs flat where we lived except for the bed rooms , during the day when we were at home... we had to sleeve all the power and hi fi cables in heavy sleving just incase.
I was alway worried i stand on her with my size " big " boots on.
The final one was a big NewZealand White litterally dumped on us , quite ill but nursed back to health by me .
She lived in a big cage in the study and like KD's was really well house trained . People who came to the house on busines were amazed to see her hopping around the office as happy as Larry because they couldn't smell her. ..
A buck might would been a different proposition if he still had all his tackle with him after a visit to the vet.
