WOW! A nice selection of peppers! Well done.

we still have broc's and cauliflowers trying to grow....they are getting bigger and i keep thinking they may get a head here soon.....we still have carrots and collard greens growing....some we can harvest now and some i hope will over winter with some green onions that we planted as well.....i also have a square of beets that i havent harvest yet....not sure if they will be any good or not.....we also have some lettuce and spinach.....(slugs got most of it ) that i clip each morning for our two parakeets.....along with some parsley that is still green

we cleaned out our three sisters garden that is/was an in-ground garden and have enlarged it to make it larger for next year....hubby and the kids were putting leaves in the beds along with our very first finished compost on it today!.....it was very exciting for all of us to see our first compost come complete full circle....it was a great day!

we still need to clean out our SFG garden box's and hubby is going to add some height to them to make them deeper for carrots and other root veggies and make it a little easier for me to work in.... he is also going to build me hoops!!!

Baby, it's cold outside!
For us, that is. 27F last night, so Friday, I harvested the last of my bigger beets, left a few smalls to see how they'd do in the cold, but mulched them with seaweed.
Also harvested the last of the tomatoes in the shed. I cut them down and laid them out when the blight started in September. I've had lots and lots of Sun Sugars ripening for the last two months. I'm excited that I'll have my own tomatoes for Thanksgiving salad! Sadly, my lettuce and spinach are too small to join them. The covers are on two beds that I planted in September, hoping I wasn't too late. I have a few Sweet Anne peas, and some gai lan, (Chinese broccoli) ready for Thursday, but that's about all.
This will be the first year that my mother and my daughter will be with me for the holiday in about 20 years. (East/west coast thing) We're having Dungeness crab cakes, from crab that I caught, and smoked salmon, from a friend nearby. Almost totally locavore dinner!

I have some truly tiny heads of broccoli left from my spring planting. I should look into that contest......

Looks like a marvelous Thanksgiving you have planned with your bi-coastal family. Tomatoes, chinese broccoli and peas sound great.

We on the Southern OR Coast have not had a frost yet, at least not here in my little lakeside micro-climate. Unfortunately, I was unable to put in a Fall Garden due to health issues. I still have about two pounds of Dungeness Crab picked and frozen from last month's catch. I was able to harvest a few All Blue potatoes from the fall planting that BBG and I tried in late August, and intend to cook them with store bought green beans. They are all small, similar to "new potatoes" in size, but should put a little color on the dinner plate.
