What to plant
Well, my garden was growing well until the summer heat.
I still have a few tomato plant producing some very small fruit, and a few Green Peppers plants giving me some decent peppers..
Question: what next? what goes down this time of year?
Thanks

Re: What to plant
Hello in the far south!
Depends on what you like to eat. I think you can just about grow what you want to.
My peppers are growing again, putting on some winter peppers.
My tomato plants looked bad after the summer heat, so I cut the top about 12 inches and re-planted in another area. They are growing fine with blooms.
If you get any cool weather, you can plant cool weather plants, peas, broccoli, cauliflower, collards, etc.
If you don't get 'winter' but some of your plants could not stand the heat of the summer sun, then you could plant them now, so they will have some coolness to grow in, they will still get plenty of sun.

Pduzant try some lettuces or sno-peas wax & green beans. I also have new cukes and tomatoes, peppers & marigolds. Have fun seeing what works.

Hot hot hot
My tomatoes burnt up this summer too. When I went to pull the plants up, the tops of five plants were a little green, so I cut them off and stuck them in some soil. Thee of them rooted and have small tomatoes on them. i will take a freebie any day. Just had a salad and the first mess of green beans from seeds I planted Labor Day. I am finding out that the growing season down here is a lot different than the season in West Virginia where I grew up. I also planted peas, spinach, cucumbers and zuccini that are doing fantastic.
