Trellising Raspberries
Has anyone tried anything like a Florida weave for raspberries? You know, that figure eight around growing plants with string every 1-2 feet of height?
I'm considering this for my 6 plants in 2 staggered rows in a 4x8 raised bed. It seems Waaay too much bother to try to insert 2 4x4 posts with t-bars and wire after the fact of planting, and I'm looking for an easier way.
This is the plan: rebar, holding galvanized conduit, joined at the top with conduit or cedar 1x2, and cedar posts 1x2" between the plants. Anyone think this isn't strong enough? I'm thinking plastic coated clothsline for the stringers.
Comments, please?

Re: Trellising Raspberries
I've got half of the trellises up. The deer got in and pruned my raspberries for me already. I made a frame of conduit, and I'm planning on running rope around the vines to hold them up. I let them spread for the summer, but I'd loke to get out and start them standing vertically.
But I think that the weave will work. I did some more research on it. I'll try to take pics this week and show you. No promises in this weather, though!
The wind might just blow me over!
Thanks for asking.
