Hoop house help? Empty Hoop house help?

Hey fellow gardeners!

We have a long raised garden at school, around 3x12-ish. It runs parallel to a chain link fence, which doubles as a trellis. Currently we have young sugar snap peas heading towards the trellis.

I have a wonderful parent that has volunteered to build a hoop house for us! My question, is there a way to include covering the 'standard' height fence? Could we have a triangular cover starting at the bottom of the garden and slanting up to the fence, then letting the plastic drape over to protect the peas? Does any of this even make sense? Sorry, lol...should I even worry about the sugar snap peas? Our frost avg. date is Oct. 15th...or the kids could just 'learn' how weather effects the peas...

But, I would like to be able to use twill or cloth to protect from insects in the spring/summer, so I probably should try to incorporate protection for the trellis/fence? Although, the 'teacher' in me kind of likes the battle of the bugs, keeps the kids interested...I can't make a decision!

Any thoughts?

Thanks!
