New boxes have to wait.
Well, looks like I won't get those new boxes anytime soon. Just got back from a 3 day trip to Wisconsin and my refrigerator died while we were gone. My daughter in law was house sitting so she caught it early. She and my daughter moved things that were still partially frozen and could be refrozen to the big freezer and since the fridge was still cold they moved the fridge stuff to the little fridge in the basement, so at least we didn't lose much. Oh well, I guess I start looking for a new fridge tomorrow.

Big fat bummer! Good luck finding one. We've been there, too.

Re: New boxes have to wait.
Thanks for the sympathy and e-hug, BBG. Ended up having to throw out more than I thought, unfortunately. Went out today and bought a new one. Too many choices! There's all kinds of new fangled stuff on them these days.
Finally settled on one. It's to be delivered on Saturday. So... up
and down the stairs to the basement for the next 3 days till it arrives
and gets installed. No excuse for not exercising, anyway.

My five and a half year old small chest freezer gave it up when I defrosted it this summer. How nice that it had a five year warranty. Luckily my side by side refrig could hold the little stuff in the freezer at that time. I have been reading, testing and trying to revive the little freezer since then but still no luck. I feel your pain.

Re: New boxes have to wait.
I'm thinking I might want to get some kind of alarm for my chest in case it dies now that I'm filling it with so many garden goods! My dad gave me his huge old freezer a few years back when I was storing milk while nursing. He bought it in 1973 to freeze his garden tomatoes and it has been moved 3 times and still works better than the last 3 fridges we've owned!

Okay folks, I've officially had my "THREE"! Fridge died, windshield on my van had to be replaced because of flying rocks, and now I have to replace all 4 rims and tires on my car!! ARGHH!! I may never get more boxes!!
The good news is the doctor released my hubby to full time work again. YAY!! At least the money will be getting better.

Not a moment too soon!
Re: New boxes have to wait.
Well folks, I'm feeling a little less frustrated, so here's what I've decided:
1. I have a beautiful new refrigerator.
2. The windshield on the van is clearer than it has been in a long time.
3. I now know I have tires and rims that will get me safely through the upcoming winter.
