9/11 Tribute...STL, MO
Our city's version of Central Park (called Forest Park) played host to the 1904 World's Fair. An art museum was built at the top of a hill overlooking a reflecting lake where people would be encouraged to gather during the fair.
Commemortating the 9/11 tragedy, St. Louis put US flags all over the hillside between the reflecting lake and art museum. One flag was placed for each soul lost. Each flag was placed exactly 10 feet from the next flag to signify the 10 year anniversary of 9/11.
I thought it was a pretty cool idea, so I grabbed my camera...and my kids...and we went down to take it all in. This is what I came away with. I thought I'd share.
Hopefully, this day will reunify our country like it did on that fateful day 10 years ago.

Thanks for sharing, what beautiful pictures!!!
I did know that St. Louis hosted the 1904 Wolrd's Fair, I've seen the movie (Meet Me In St. Louis), it's one of my favoirtes. Also wasn't ice cream invented there, or was that the one in Chicago?

I was wrong, as I knew that Dolly Madison served it while in the White House. However, there was something that was "thrown" together at the St. Louis World's fair that we still enjoy today, it will come to me.

I GOT IT, I GOT IT!!! It was the Ice Cream CONE, invented by someone who could not keep up with the dishes required to serve Ice Cream. I was close!
