PNW-signs of Autumn? Empty PNW-signs of Autumn?

I know it's only mid-August, but the signs are here that Autumn is right around the corner. Have you seen any?

1. Spider webs. The little guys get real busy in the fall building webs across walkways that hit me across the face as I walk by. I have to remember to take a broom to clear the way for a couple weeks. The webs are here already.

2. Fog. We've had high fog, a sure sign. Have never had it this early.

3. Heavy dew first thing in the morning along with a nice crisp feeling temperature, clear skies. Then it warms up fast as the sun rises.

4. Tree leaves are beginning to fall. Just random leaves here and there; they are still green.

That all says Autumn to me, regardless of what the calendar says. It's been like Puyallup Fair weather already!

I was just saying the same thing yesterday. Here on the other side of the mountains, our heat broke. It's still in the upper 80's but you can feel the difference. The night time temps dropped 10 degrees and it's no longer 80 degrees at 10:30 pm (or AM for that matter lol). I think we might be in for an early, long winter here in Washington :o(

I agree.....Sad boo hoo

hubby heard we are going to have a long....very cold...... winter Shocked

we just planted some more sugar snap peas yesterday....not sure we will get any....wanted to give it a try....we planted a bush type that is like 52 days i think....we also put in some spinach 40 days....and some more carrots that we are ok trying to over winter them......yesterday i kept telling my self....its just some seeds....no big deal....we are still learning to garden...and whats the fun of it...if you dont experiment a little here and there Laughing we also have some baby seedlings of cauli's and broc's.....to be planted some where.....

we just hope the weather stays warm enough to get enough cucumbers to pickle ( at least one jar) and that our squash is able to become full grown Very Happy for our large pumpkins to turn orange.....the corn has made it though...we had our first last night....it needs just a tiny bit more time to fill in the little bit at the top Very Happy boy though....its good!

hugs

rose......blah...fall....boo hoo
