came out of the compost pile
I used our compost in my MM and I had a tomato plant come up from seed in the compost, usually they are those little cherry tomatoes but this one is a medium size one and it turned out really good.
Re: came out of the compost pile
Hope that happens in my compost ((nothing like a surprise))

Someday I might actually go out and turn my compost pile. And then maybe something will grow out of it for me! ROFL!

+1 Mine gets turned twice a year - once in spring after the snow melts and I want to use what is on the bottom, and once right before winter when I am cleaning up the yard before snow flies!

Re: came out of the compost pile
I turned mine once a few months ago but never got back out there to turn every few days like I had planned. Went out recently and found at least 6 tomato plants growing in the empty space where I had moved the compost pile FROM. Just started getting tomatoes from them. They're small tomatoes, elongated cherry type - don't remember what that's called. But they're yummy and it's a nice surprise.
