Have you seen/used this? It's a pot made from composted cow manure. Seems like a clever way to add some compost to your MM upon planting. Amazon reviews are mixed, two love it, and two say that the pots fall apart way to quickly.

Wondering if anyone here has tried it.

I used them last year and had the best success I have ever had with starting seeds indoors. This year I forgot to order them in time so I used the little peat pellets again - as usual, I killed all my seedlings. Next year I am doing Cow Pots again for sure!

Hmmm...I have seen them, but never used them cause I thought they were too pricey...

I got soil blockers this year and had great success with those starting my seeds. They are pricey as well, but a one time investment. I got them HERE, I bought the Medium and the mini.

I don't see how those soil blocks would work well. It seems like the
soil block would just fall apart as soon as you try to water them or
move them.

They work wonderfully, many folks here on the forum use them, Quiltbea is one who loves them like I do...Blackrose I believe is another...I will never use anything else!

Interesting. What soil do you use in soil block? Do you use MM? Seems like MM is to "friable" to hold as a block.

I think quiltbea uses what Johnny's Seeds sells for them, I used regular seed starter mix and it worked great. The trick was to get the mix sopping wet, I mean sopping. Then when I filled the block maker I packed it and packed it, that way when I pressed them out they held together. I watered them by watering from the bottom and they held together just great.
