Re: I really am obsessed....
I have 3 rain barrels, extra gutters in a "stack" and bunches of pcv pipe, all I need is my husband to have the "time" to help me do it all. He brings home lots of stuff leftover from jobs, but getting him to do more than unload it is an adventure, and I'm no spring chicken anymore.
Thanks for all the extra info, I'll file it with the rest of my water collecting info, I really do appreciate it, and I have seen a solar pump online to run all this water to the drip lines, but then the only water hitting the ground right now water that I turn on and pump out of our well. Who knows maybe one of my older 2 son's will enlist the help of my 14yo son (ya right) and they will take pitty on their mom.

I need to check into some of these suggestions. It has been such a dry summer that I ahve been watering every day.. and since it rained all spring, it would have been nice to have some of that water to carry over!

The fact of the matter is that even if two members can debate civilly this isn't a debate forum. And usually when two very civil posters have healthy communication soon 3 and 4 and 5 members are chiming in and it very quickly becomes uncivil and snarky at best.
As the admin it is my job to try and nip things in the bud that may become a problem before they do. Sometimes someone beats me to it...Thank you Quiltbea.
With very close to 6300 members you would be amazed at all the different strokes you will find here. While a lot of us do believe more veggies are better for us and the planet there are many that could give a rip...they just wanna grow some veggies.

And I will appologize.. like mijejo, I did not look at this as a debate at all, but an exchange of information.. which is why in my initial responses I made it clear to state I respected an alternate opinion, with no attempt to sway anyone else to my belief system.. and mijejo responded likewise.
Not to mention, in my mind, gardening, raising animals, keeping bees, etc, are all intricately tied together.
On the other hand, I too know there are WAY to many people who can't take and live with an alternate opinion, and I can understand how this could spiral out of control. I will keep this fact in mind in future posts and try not to be a trouble maker! (and feel free to slap my hand if I am!)
