Re: Chickens are funny!
No Such Reality, try to think of it as sweet little robins singing in the trees in the morning... haha. Yes, roosters can be annoying. I'll keep a rooster out of the spring hatch for the fall, winter, and spring, but in summer I can't really tolerate them crowing at all hours of the day and night and I'm sure my neighbors can hear it, so I usually give away the rooster in the summer. If I lived on 100 acres and no one could hear it, I would keep a rooster in the summer.
And Valerie, those pictures are really funny. In the mornings, my hens are flinging themselves against the door to get out, and I am usually out there by 6:30 a.m. to "free" them. It's like they think "All the good bugs are getting away!"
