Anyone need some extra rain?
Goodness, it just won't stop around here. We've gotten about 5 inches in the last 3 days. My tomatoes and peppers are drowning. Their leaves have gone all curly!
Take my rain... PLEASE!

Oh, how I wish we could take it off your hands! I think pretty much the entire state of Texas desperately needs some right now!

Re: Anyone need some extra rain?
Any of our Texans and Okies would pay you to ship it right now. I feel so bad for them as they suffer that 100 degree heat and drought.
My dad lives in SE KS still and told me that they have had a whopping 3 tenths since the 1st of the month. They are on the very northern fringe of the southern drought. I know west Texas is used to this stuff, but y'all in the east and southeast have to just be dying for some water.
Granted, you are just one hurricane event away from catching up.....on paper.
As for us, we don't need any for another 7 days. Then, you'll be hearing me dancing with my tom-toms if start to get a bit dry.

Yeah, I mean it may be an extended growing season in TX, but I would not trade the climate in KY for anywhere else in the world. Rain, shine, rain, shine, that's all it has been. My plants are loving it!

Re: Anyone need some extra rain?
I'm in SE Iowa and it's rained here almost daily. Last night at 10pm, the news said that we were going to get rain and possibly, golf ball sized hail with winds of 60 mph. So, I went out and covered my hoops with some old tent material I have. I clipped it on with some file binder clips and hoped for the best. We didn't get that severe weather, but it did help keep most of the rain out. I didn't even bother taking it off this morning. We're suppose to get more severe weather later in the day. This weather is crazy. I suppose if anybody saw me in the middle of the night out there putting material over my hoops, they'd think I was crazy too, lol.

rain, rain, go away...
In the last 24 hours here we have had 5+" depending on which neighborhood you are in. I have a feeling I need an ark or gills.

Tell me about it. No rain yesterday and downpour today. We have rain forecast for the rest of the week. Fun.

So, I was thinking of making a rookie topic discussing kelp.

If you grow kelp you can sell it to the sushi shops. Bonus income

Please, have some of my rain
I'm a patient soul but this incessant rain, rain, rain is getting a bit much. I'd gladly send some your way if you want it.

kelp?
hmmm, I wonder what is needed for kelp. It would certainly be a novelty in the farmer's markets around here.

Re: Anyone need some extra rain?
We have had so much rain here in Southern British Columbia and my three + beds are a forest of green.
Yesterday was a lovely day, full sun most of the day so as today is promising to be even drier and hotter I decided that I would have to water today. I have not done so for ages and ages.
I am looking forward to seeing something other than green. i.e. Snow pea flowers, tomato flowers, potato flowers, runner bean and cucumber flowers. Where are they?
It is a pity that Mother Nature does not spread the rain around evenhandedly, It is all or nothing with her. But perhaps it would get a bit boring?
