Is this a plant or a weed?

Is this a plant or a weed?
I dug up the flower bed outside the living room windows, and moved compost there and then added more dirt and mixed it all together. I have some plants that I've ordered and will be also picking up some herbs from a local farmer. I have some vermiculite on order from a local feed store and was waiting to pick that up and mix it in with more compost before planting.
I haven't been in the backyard in a few days, and was really surprised to find these plants growing in the bed!
Does anyone recognize them? Are they a veggie? Or are they weeds?
If they are weeds, I'll pull them, but if they are veggies, then I'll let them grow. But I don't have a clue what they are. :heehee:

This is my first year growing some stuff so I could be completely wrong but is there any chance that it is some kind of squash? It kind of looks like my squash leaves.

Squash?
Cucumber?
Pumpkin?
Melon?
To me the leaves all look really similar, but it does look like one of those to me. Doesn't really look like a weed, I don't think.
Actually, I just googled pics on all those, and it looks more like pumpkin.

Hollyhocks? What kind of flowers did you pull up from the bed?
However, they do look a lot like a squash, cuke, melon, etc.

Re: Is this a plant or a weed?
It was overrun with grass and empty pots. So it's not a flower.
I had a large compost bin that was almost completely broken down that I dumped in there. We eat all kinds of stuff... squash, potatoes, watermelon, cucumbers, peppers, cantelope, and more. I don't remember putting any large or whole pieces in there lately, but there would be the rinds and end pieces of any of them. Although, hubby does "help" me clear out the fridge, so there very well could have been larger pieces of fruit or veggies in the compost bin, but I don't remember seeing any. We mixed a bunch of dirt and other compost with it on a tarp in our yard before dumping it into the flower bed, and then mixed more dirt and bagged compost with it on top.
I'll go ahead and water them and will update once it starts producing!
