I don't know what happened to my reply. It just disappeared. Anyway, it's a type of oregano. Don't remember which. If I can find my label, I'll let you know. I had some that I purchased at our local nursery. It literally took over half the bed it was in. It's EXTREMELY agressive. You can control it by just pulling everything out except the center. It dries really well, and tastes great in spaghetti.

It could be, they are very closely related. I got this quote from about.com
"Adding more confusion to the mix is the close relationship between marjoram (Origanum majorana)
and oregano, which naturally means they also look very much alike.
While its gentler flavor is sweeter and its aroma not quite as pungent,
marjoram is often confused with oregano. Sweet marjoram has leaves which
are slightly hairy and more gray-green in color."

My flowers didn't look like that, I don't think. This is a really good close up pick of greek oregano. Notice the velvety leaves. They're not smooth. Hope this helps.

Denese, mine does have that shape, but is not velvety. Mine is smooth with no hair.

Re: Anyone know what herb this is?
They all seem to have the same shape leaves, but mine is sort of pinkish. I will pull most and try drying, and plant a small amt in an out of the way spot. They are all part of the mint family, and will spread rapidly.
I planted 1 sq./plant of white thyme. It says it will grow until it finds another plant, then will spread no further. We'll see.
Thanks, Jo
