Little green Aphids on my eggplant leaves...
Jeesh, yesterday it was slugs, today it's aphids.
What is an organic remedy for aphids again?
Interestingly, the eggplants were transplants that I bought from the local farm store who bought them from an organic grower up the road. I wonder if I imported aphids into my garden.
Edit: Does Diatomaceous Earth (DE) work on aphids? Would I powder the leaves with that? I have a bag of that for the chicken coop, and I think it's probably organic - it says food grade.

yes, it will kill aphids, and yes, it is organic. (I love being the bearer of good news!)

a strong, but not too strong, spray of the hose. Insecticidal soap too. Lady bugs.

Re: Little green Aphids on my eggplant leaves...
You know what I think killed my aphids?
I could be wrong about this - maybe it just got colder and wetter and they are hiding somewhere.
But I read on the internet (and the internet can't be wrong - ha) that if you squish them, it leaves some kind of scent that repels the others. So I rubbed all my eggplant leaves and squished them, and I haven't seen anymore.
I wonder if that worked or if they'll be back. Will post when (and if) the weather ever dries/warms up.

That's the way I kill the ones on my eggplant too, mob style. I rub them out. Eggplant leaves are strong and can take it. Had to recruit a lady beetle from a neighbor's garden for the dill.
