Romas Blooming Early?

Hello All - My Roma plants are about a foot tall at the moment, and I noticed in passing that at least a few already have some blooms, though they haven't opened yet. This seems too early for them to do that, based on their size, so I was wondering if I should pinch them off, and if so, at what plant height I should stop doing so? I've never had this happen before, so any info would be very much appreciated. Thanks!

How long ago did you transplant them?

I noticed the same thing with mine today here in MN. I started mine from seed this year and transplanted them in 18 oz large cups before they finally went in the garden. The stems are really thick and there are already flowers. I was just chalking it up to the great start the roots got and being transplanted nice and deep when they were still little. I think it was 4 weeks ago they went in the garden.

Mil, in my opinion yours are good to go! It really is warm enough now for most things to just go ahead. Congrats!! Very Happy

Lol to be honest it's been such a busy week that I can't remember if I only transplanted them a week ago or two. I think it has to have been 2 weeks ago. They've grown and filled out a good deal in that time, though they were root-bound in the cups and were probably in them for longer than was ideal before being transplanted to the garden.

You probably have good enough root development to let the plant make fruits now. Congratulations! Very Happy
