This is not an endorsement or encouragement to buy this stuff. But here is a cut out portion of Lowes online add for MM. Doubtful I will buy it but some have less access to the ingredients to mix their own. Looks like a little over $50 will fill one standard 4X4 box. The package image does not load but follow this link to see it. Wonder why other growing preps are far less money.

At $50, that's a little over $3 per square foot, which isn't bad at all. It's less than I can make it myself if I have to buy the composts.

We have seen poor quality individual composts being sold this year due to suppliers taking shortcuts and using fillers. I hope the pre-packaged MM doesn't go down the same road.

One disadvantage of the pre-packaged MM is that there isn't any 5 way compost available for the SFG gardener to add to a square when re-planting.

I spent $60 to fill the last bed we made, but that was for 12 cu ft because the vermiculite was a 4 cu ft package and the peat was a 2.2 cu ft compressed so I had to add 4 cu ft of blended compost . For me it worked out well, as I had enough for a few big tomato pots. And the blend I used was already a proven good mix. However, I did notice that the Lowes MM is "fortified with bat guano and worm castings". To me that means neither of these is 1/5 of the compost blend and perhaps, since they are both so powerful, they don't have to be. Those items may take the iffy out of the compost equation.

I would sure buy a bag or three if I could get it in Western Washington State. I fill my boxes with MM that I make myself, then rob the boxes to fill different tubs and pots. I try to make enough extra to refill a couple of the bags that the composts came in and still run out. I end up buying a local organic bagged soil at about $10 for 2 cubic feet (5 times so far this season) and mix it with homegrown compost and vermiculite (I can only get small or medium in the smaller bags). I am SURE that I end up paying at least that much and it still isn't as nice as MM. It is easy to find the demon spawn of Miracle Grow but I REALLY do not want that Frankenstein stuff.

It was the online website but when i used it for my zip code it was out of order. After readin some post I am going to call a local Lowes store for price and availability. Since it's packaging carries Mels picture and the logo there must be some agreement or connection with SFG.com here is the add link. http://www.lowes.com:80/ProductDisplay?partNumber=308781-78212-GT+11670&langId=-1&storeId=10151&productId=3178997&catalogId=10051&cmRelshp=req&rel=nofollow&cId=PDIO1

Called the local Lowes. They don't carry the product in this region but can get it. Need to buy a full pallet of 50 bags thats 100 cft or about 12 boxes(4X4's). That is more than I want and at sale price would be $650. Good for a group purchase possibly. Next I used their store locator map and find the SW is well covered but not elsewhere for stocked product. California, Az and New Mexico stores carry it in stock unless you can make a deal with your local store for a shipment. Did not get into future pricing or raincheck ect. There are 4 reviews of this product in Lowes site ranging from 1 scathing to 3 love letters.
