SF Bay Area - New
Hi, We live in Danville California - east of San Francisco. Last year we tried a regular veggie garden and LOVED the fresh veggies. However, we had trouble with the soil, gophers, squirrels and racoons.
My twins (10-yrs) are taking gardening in 4-H and my 15 yr old daughter is also into gardening. We have lots of seedlings ready to go into the garden next month. Our SFG beds are not assembled yet but I am already gathering the ingredients for the beds.
It is great to find this forum. Are their any SFG clubs or such (I get a discount at the local nursery if I am a card carrying garden club member).

Hi Lisa,
I am in the south bay -- Cupertino. Also have long history with row gardening although it never made sense to me to plant a long row of anything except sugar snap peas. This is my first foray into SFG and we started with a table-top 2'x4' box. It was planted on March 14 and everything is up and growing today. I will try to get a photo this weekend. My traditional garden is also going with the SSPeas, tomatoes (planted yesterday), strawberries and bulb onions. Scallions, pepper plants an more lettuce will go out there this weekend. Good luck with your garden. Keep us posted.
