Tomato Pruning.

I know there is another thread on this but it's really long so I wanted to start from a clean slate. Smile

I have 8 tomato plants--4 are determinate (I believe) and the other 4 are indeterminate. I understand that the indeterminate ones are the ones that need to be pruned, but I'm not to prune the determinates.

My indeterminates are HUGE at this point. Over 3' tall. Is it "too late" to prune them? Will I damage them if I cut back some of the lower branches? All this talk of suckers, etc. has me totally confused, but I'd like to lean out these plants a bit to make them more manageable. Help??? Sad

Outside, thanks for the link to that article. I read it quickly and printed a copy to take home with me from work--it looks like a great article. I'm afraid my tomato plants are in the "getting overgrown" stage and I hope I can get them pruned effectively so I get some good results this season.

A lot of people put a lot of time and effort into the answers here on the forum and to purposely ignore that cause you don't want to search for the answer is kind of inconsiderate.

Many folks here could answer every question with a link in response to another thread, but that is what makes this community so great, we don't do that as a rule. Please don't take advantage of it.

Although not a TOS violation this was definitely not cool.

Let's be better than this and more appreciative in the future please.
