I had built a contraption where I had to climb on a step-ladder to water the carrots. Sprained my ankle, couldn't climb, and lost those guys.

I still have a couple five foot contraptions going. But my dogs think that my special 'grow juice' is wonderful. I don't know if I can keep them away until harvest time.

If all else fails, I planted a square in the box where I plant the rest of my carrots. They seem to be a lot slower than the other types of carrots that I'm growing. You didn't spray the seed package with a retardant did you?
