What is a clear cage?
What does Mel mean when he says cover the seeds with a plastic-covered cage, as in when planting carrott seeds?

Hi RussC,
I've been looking for an answer for you , did you see that in the book?

Wire cage
I believe he's talkin about covering the SFG with a rabbit wire or chicken wire cage that's covered with plastic to gve it a greenhouse effect and keep the critters out.

Here is a picture of mine, made using PVC pipe as a frame, and a clear plastic covering. Helps to protect your plants, seeds and seedlings.

Re: What is a clear cage?
Thanks for the responses. Since he referenced "clear" that lead me to believe it might be a cover of some sort for the "greenhouse" effect. That's what I have been doing. What confused me is he also said specifically a wire cage cover when he was talking about corn seeds. That's why I was a little confused.
