It is exciting my box is finished (well almost) and I have started planting. Due to tech. difficulties my poor trans plants had to wait longer than expected.
I looked all over town for one of my favorite peppers Poblanos I had my heart on growing some this year and ended up buying 2 sad leggy transplants from a local nursery Sad . They were the only ones I could get, if they do well I am renaming "Mel's mix", "Mel's miricale mix". Also planted two Sun King maters, 2 red peppers that was all they were labled as, one dill plant, one celontrio, and one sweet banana pepper. I am waiting for soil inoculent for the edamame wondering what else I sould plant. I will hit ace tomorrow and see if they have gotten any new plants. This time of year it seems they all have given up on getting any new plants for the veggie gardens and only have stressed out pot bound seedlings 2 of those are more than enough for this gardener. Cool

alrighta

Here's hoping the poblano's perk up. You'll want to stake them well. Pepper plants are notorious for snapping under the weight of the peppers. Even better, you can use Mel's wire cage method.

I'm growing a Poblano for the first time this year. It's just a transplant from a local nursery, too. If it does well I'll get a pack of seed next year. My hot peppers were kind of an afterthought as there wasn't as much of a hurry to get them into the garden as the sweet peppers.
I've already had one cilantro plant go to seed on me. But the one next to it is fine finaly planted my brand new box 601593 I've since planted some Slo-Bolt Cilantro, so we'll see if that does any better. I hear you on running out of options to plant in the heat. But then fall and winter are great!

I love poblanos!! And, you may already know this but, cilantro will give coriander seed, which is yummy too! Wink

Thanks for all the encouragement guys. I know it is too hot for Cilantro right now but the neighbor across the street gave it to me so what can I do? Corrander I'll just start calling it Corrander.
