Howdy Folks:

This is from Pumpkin Nook, a seller of gardening seeds and supplies. God Bless, Ward and Mary.

The Great Southern Cicada insect brood is beginning to emerge.

Arriving
in 12 states, they will be so thick in some areas, that you might sweep
or shovel them off of your patio, deck, or sidewalk!

Will they arrive in your area? Are they harmful to pets? Do you need to protect my garden or landscaping?

Find out at: www.gardenersnet.com/atoz/cicada.htm

Didn't get much traction a couple weeks back, so if I may repost in here, too?

Sounds like a good year for barriers. May have to get a net for my newest tree. The others have already been though an invasion.

If it ain't one thing, it's another.

I had good results with Neem last year keeping grasshoppers off my plants, but I'm thinking this won't work on this many. I found the link that updates you on where they are and when to expect them, all it said for TX was that NE TX is the only place they will affect, that's my area....
