Hi I'm Buttaflie
I'm a SAHM (stay at home mommy) of three - two year old boy/girl twins and a six year old son in the first grade. I currently attend UOP, hoping to come away with a degree in Elem. Ed. and my new (started last spring) hobby/passion/obsession is square foot gardening. Mel's book is wonderful, afterall everything I did last year was done according to a book from the bookstore or a website. I had no prior gardening knowledge. Just proves that we plant, but it is Jehovah who makes it grow
. My garden faired well, but I would like to do much better this season. My goal is to garden year round and to make my own compost. Whew! I said it out loud.
Let the gardening begin!!!!!

Hi, Buttaflie, I was a SAHM, too~~ well, still am, but my kiddos are not little anymore. I graduated with an elem ed (Interdisciplinary Studies) degree in 2009 but am not teaching. I have heard they will be making some pretty serious teacher layoffs across TX - have already started, so maybe that wasn't in the cards for me anyway, lol... I also love SFG or what I know of it so far~~ I'm an SFG newbie. Welcome and glad to see you!!

How nice to have you join us. We have several members in your area.
SFG is such a great way to introduce children to gardening. They pick up so much more than you imagine. Twin 2 yo are certainly a challenge by themselves.
Glad you had a productive year with your first SFG, hope this year is even better. Ask questions when you have them and keep us updated on your progress.

Thanks again, camprn -- boffer helped me adjust my date settings to include the year LOL Before that, it looked like every thread I posted in was current, but hopefully Buttaflie still gets forum notifications and may decide to pop in again. Her gardens are gorgeous in the Mid-South forum!!
