Well, Georgia girl and the hubs. Not sure if we are in the middle or lower south. From what I have read we are more or less on a cusp between Augusta(lower South) and Atlanta (middle South). Anyone else in a cross over/cusp/border area?

Did SFG years ago when Mel was on PBS and had great success, with work, raising kids, many moves, I got away from it totally. This year with rising food costs we are back to the garden and I have so missed my homegrowns!

Look forward to sharing and learning from the group. sunny

There are many of us that either fall on the line, or near it, so hop back and forth between regions, we all do anyway. I'm also on a zone line, so I watch both 8a & 7b, the weather and the plants don't know they are not supposed to behave a certain way, why should we?

Georgia Girl! 396615 to the forum and we love to help out when needed and we love pictures. I'm the regional host for the lower south so if I can help out with any questions regarding that area, I'll try, if not, I'll help look for help.

Again, welcome, and let us know how we can help out, oh and did I say we love pictures.

Have you had a chance to read the ALL NEW SQUARE FOOT GARDENING book? It came out in 2006 I believe, and is full of simple instructions on an even easier method than the original SFG. No double digging, no weeds (got me with the no weeds) and productive too.

If you don't have a copy of the book, get one, or even borrow it from your local library, it is well worth the read.

Again, Welcome. If you have questions, just ask. Please keep us updated on your progress and share pictures, we I love you them.

Doesn't that make life easier? I love the new method.

Get those fresh veggies growing. Homegrowns are the best.

Well, hello! How are ya? Georgia Girl! 396615

I'm from the middle south. I'm only about 2 hours north of Atlanta. Please do be sure to drop by the middle south forums, but don't feel as though you just have to stay there. There is lots and lots to learn from regions next to us and even from regions farther away like the PNW or NE. I know I post all over the place. Just jump right on in wherever you like. Also, don't forget about the general forum if you have questions that aren't region specific. Wherever you end up, I'm sure you'll find someone who can help you and someone you can learn something from. The folks around are always eager to help and eager to share.

So, tell us some more about your SFG. Have you started working on your layout so far as how many boxes you'll have and what you'll grow?

I'm in the Atlanta area as well, and didn't know for sure if I was in zone 7a or b. Enter your zipcode in this map to find out:
